Apple Store, Mall of Georgia

While looking through my email this morning, I noticed my daily digest of tech jobs from Dice.com. What caught my eye was that Apple was looking for Mac Geniuses and Creative Trainers for positions in Buford, GA. For those who aren’t familiar with that location, it is where the Mall of Georgia resides.

For many in Gwinnett this is great news. I’m still holding out hope that Apple will open a store on the east side of Atlanta (Stone Mountain, Snellville). But the 30 minute trip to the Mall of Georgia is preferable to the 60 minute trip to Lenox. Two questions remain. Will this be a full sized store (like Lenox Square) or a smaller store (like Perimeter). Since they are looking for a Creative Trainer, I’m thinking this will be a full size store. The remaining question is when will the store open. Usually, hiring for a store happens between 45-60 days from opening, so there’s hope that we’ll have a new Apple Store in Gwinnett by the beginning of September.
